Benny the Bunny could hop very fast 🎵 on one foot. He could even zip up his 🎵 spring jacket all by himself, without any help at all. But there was one thing he was completely terrible at. He didn’t know how to wait.
It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon. Benny dashed toward the playground 🎵 with one very important goal. He wanted to swing on the big red swing. It was the best swing in the whole park because it flew higher than all the others. The little bunny smiled broadly just thinking about the wind rushing past his ears 🎵.
Benny hurried toward the swings, but suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. His favorite spot was taken 🎵! Cleo the Cat was sitting on the red seat, swinging away while hugging her beloved teddy bear. Benny stood nearby and decided to wait a little while.
To make the wait easier, he went over to the sandbox. He tried to build the tallest sand tower, but the sand was too dry and his castle kept falling down. With every crumbling tower, Benny glanced anxiously at the swing. He really wanted to play, and time was ticking away! So, he walked back over, crossed his arms, and stared right at Cleo.
He waited and waited. The sun slowly moved across the sky, and Cleo showed no sign of getting off the swing.
“It’s my turn now!” Benny called out, feeling very impatient.
Cleo shook her head.
“Not yet! I’m flying my spaceship to the moon 🎵!” she answered.
Just then, Buster the Puppy, Benny’s best friend, zoomed onto the playground. Buster always acted faster than he thought. With a loud bark, he started chasing his own tail right next to the swing, kicking up big clouds of sand. Benny felt a rush of panic. If Cleo finally got off, the bouncy puppy might jump into her seat. If that happened, Benny wouldn’t get to swing until winter!
