Children will learn that having more isn't always better, and that sometimes the simple things in life bring the greatest happiness. This story teaches the importance of appreciating what you have and understanding that different people find joy in different lifestyles.
In a green valley full of grain stalks and wildflowers lived a country mouse. Her little home was beneath the root of an old oak tree, lined with soft moss and dry grasses. The mouse’s life was simple: every morning she gathered grains, nuts, and berries that she found in the fields. In the evenings, she would sit in front of her house, gazing at the stars and listening to the crickets. Though she didn’t have much, she was happy because her life was peaceful and safe 🎵.
One day, the country mouse received a letter from her cousin – a city mouse. The letter smelled strange – a bit like smoke, a bit like something sweet that the country mouse didn’t recognize. Inside, her cousin wrote:
“Dear cousin! Come visit me in the city! You’ll see how wonderfully we live here. We have mountains of food, shining palaces, and more fun than you can imagine. I’m waiting for you!”
The country mouse had never been to the city. She had heard stories about tall buildings, noisy cars, and strange creatures called humans who ran back and forth. She was curious but a little afraid 🎵. In the end, however, curiosity won. She packed a small bundle with nuts for the journey, said goodbye to her neighbor – a field frog 🎵 – and set off on her journey.
After a long trek through forests and fields, she reached the city 🎵. From a distance, she saw something amazing: houses taller than the biggest trees, gleaming in the sun like crystals, and crowds of people hurrying in every direction. The country mouse felt her little heart beating faster. “This must be a magical place!” she thought.
