The Donkey in the Lion’s Skin
About This Story
A charming tale about Hoofie, a shy donkey who finds a lion's skin and decides to disguise himself as the king of the jungle. When all the forest animals start fearing him, Hoofie enjoys his new powerful identity - until he accidentally lets out a donkey's "hee-haw" instead of a lion's roar! The story teaches children the important lesson that pretending to be someone you're not might work temporarily, but being your authentic self is always the best choice. Children will learn about honesty, self-acceptance, and the humor that comes from embracing who you truly are.
Once upon a time, in a green valley full of flowers and trees, there lived a little donkey 🎵 named Hoofie. Hoofie was cheerful, but a bit shy. He had big ears that waved like flags in the wind 🎵, and he loved to nibble on grass by the stream 🎵. But more than anything in the world, he was afraid of big animals – especially the fearsome lion 🎵 who supposedly ruled the forest!
One sunny day, Hoofie was playing in the bushes when suddenly… crash! He tripped over something soft and fluffy. It was an old lion’s skin! It lay there forgotten, golden and shaggy, with a great mane like a crown. “Oh my!” laughed Hoofie. “It looks like the jungle king’s coat! What if…?”
